A child with a genuine sense of purpose, who also has the strength, conviction, and addiction to self-improvement to act upon that purpose, is perhaps the most powerful force for good on the planet.
We as martial arts teachers accomplish this by instilling within our students an addiction to Self-Improvement, a Warrior Spirit, as well as the conviction that the best way to lead is by taking on the mantle of a Servant-Leader. Talk is cheap. It’s through action that we both improve ourselves as martial artists, as well as inspire and encourage our students to walk a virtuous path that strengthens Body, Spirit, and Mind.
Currently, professional martial arts schools across the United States are teaching their students how to be confident, but also how to handle themselves in certain situations, like bullying. Many of the better martial arts locations teach their students the four stages of bullying and how to take different avenues of resolve instead of just physical violence.
Throughout the years martial arts professionals have been extremely great at helping children overcome their fear of getting bullied. Gaining the confidence to stand up for themselves is a crucial part of any great program. We plan to continue to focus on this topic of bullying so that we may be the change we want to see in this world.
Currently, our staff at MAD headquarters is constantly improving an existing program that has been taught to over 1600 high school students per year. This type of continual improvement in students lives is the heartbeat of MAD.
We, as MAD volunteers, create an atmosphere for any person who has been a victim. Physical or Sexual abuse is one of the highest growing crimes in the U.S. at this time. The results of this treatment last a lifetime. We make it our mission to allow every person that walks through MAD doors know that they are not defined by their past, but that they can have hope and a future. MAD locations are “no judgment” zones.
A mission of MAD is to host “healing camps” for victims of physical and sexual assault. Participants will attend and find their “heartbeat” again and also learn how to protect themselves if a situation like this ever happens again. MAD locations have had many students with this type of background. As a MAD location, we can say, with confidence, we help pick up the pieces of those people and help them reach their full potential.
The Arnold family have taught numerous children over the past several decades that have been physically and sexually abused. Donations to this campaign will not only help to strengthen those programs, but also provide annual grants to local stakeholders such as the Women’s Crisis Center, Texoma Health Foundation, and CASA.
Another pillar of MAD is what we call the “Couch Surfer Movement”. It is our goal to help as many homeless teens that “couch surf” from home to home. We want to show them love, compassion and offer help. We can help this group of individuals currently by financial support through local organizations.
In the future, we will be able to provide for these teens more in areas like housing, education, and teaching basic life skills to propel them into success.
We as a MAD location encounter many different people, some of which have life-threatening and/or terminal diseases. However, many people that we meet do not do martial arts. It is our heartbeat to give every child a fighting chance, just like they are fighting for their life.
We offer birthday parties for these individuals so they can have a memorable time and really feel like a kid, instead of having to worry about medicine or other life pressing things.
Not only do we offer birthday parties, but we ensure that these families know they are welcome within our MAD locations. Love, encouragement, and support for these families are our mission.
Martial Arts heals peoples lives. Taught properly, the martial arts can make significant impacts in the lives of the less fortunate. For years MAD headquarters has taught groups of mentally and/or physically handicapped individuals in their community.
MAD locations nationwide currently improve lives through stretching, memory, and fitness gained through martial arts training. We believe that physical or mental impairment cannot stop success.
MAD would not be here today if it weren't for our soldiers who have fought for our freedom. Not only that, but we are protected by our first responders every day. It is our goal that these men and women know that they are appreciated in many different ways.
MAD honors these heroes who have lost their lives in the line of duty. We want to serve them for their dedication to service and we do this by supporting their families.
MAD sponsors fundraisers to support these families. Not only the families of the fallen ones but also through the support of other organizations that help our heroes.
MAD supports students that have dedicated their lives to martial arts. Scholarship recipients are living testimonies of how martial arts has improved their lives.
This scholarship has strict requirements and is very competitive. We want to honor those students who have excelled in every aspect of their life, not just the mat.
